The name of this site is two words. AI - you've heard that one plenty. And capacitate - an old word, and a good one. It means to make able.

Here's something the news never gets around to saying: AI isn't new. It's been in the movies since a computer named HAL politely refused to open the pod bay doors in 1968, and it's been quietly sorting the mail and finishing your sentences for decades. What's new is that now anybody can sit down and talk with one - free, in plain English, at the kitchen table. So if some part of you figures you missed the boat: you didn't. This isn't a boat that left. It's a door that just now opened, and you're standing in front of it at exactly the right time.

That's what this site is for. Twelve short lessons, free, that walk you through that door - not to make you an expert, but to make you capable. Capable of talking with this thing, putting it to work, catching it when it's wrong, and staying safe the whole way. Being capable of things never goes out of style. That's the promise hiding in the name, and the site keeps it.
